CREATIVE DIRECTION & BRAND IDENTITY
After 9 years of no updates, we reinvented the HostGator brand with a whole new personality and visual strategy that better suits HostGator’s quirky charm. We updated the color palette, created a custom illustration style, refined the brand guidelines, and gave the mascot, Snappy, a clear role within this global website hosting brand.

HostGator’s new branding was an international effort, where I coordinated with our teams in Latin America and provided training and guidelines on the new brand direction. We were able to launch the new brand across all our locations on the same day, including an updated website, a refreshed logo, and the social media presence.
Other branded materials included a signature logo bumper animation, that can be used across all video content, a social media strategy to inject 90’s tv inspired “commercial breaks” into your feed, and a swag-a-log catalogue with a library of HostGator branded shirts.
We launched the new HostGator website in 2020, the first website changes and improvements this brand has seen in over 4 years, and continue to make updates across the site. Some key metrics from the site launch improvements include:
6% increase in click through rate on the homepage
8% increase in click through rate on the shared hosting page
10% improvement in bounce rate from the homepage
14.5% increase in shared hosting revenue per visitor
